Alice in Wonderland- Review

Alice in Wonderland is a gyro-ride. This film conflates CGI with flesh and blood actors in a loose reworking of Carroll's dream vision texts – Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass.

Burton's adaptation puts forth an underworld spectrum of Carroll's precocious manimals, who pelt themselves at the audience and tug at their eyeballs. They aren't however, the loquacious eccentrics of Carroll's classics. These burbling, chortling beasts pull forth the film's lumbering screenplay and feeble 3D animations. Anne Hathaway and Helena Bonham Carter play the White Queen and Red Queen with ludicrous élan.
